Justin Metzler (Boulder, Colo.) earned the first overall win of his professional career at Challenge Iceland on Sunday. Metzler covered the 1500m swim, 90k bike and 21.1k run in 3:56:21. Trevor Wurtele was the runner-up in 3:58:45, and Jesper Svensson of Sweden rounded out the top-three 3:59:25. Jordan Rapp (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) was fourth overall, less than three minutes off the podium in 4:02:10. In the women’s race, Jeanni Seymour of South Africa took the win with a time of 4:18:02, followed by Heather Wurtele of Canada in 4:18:22 and Sarissa de Vries of the Netherlands in 4:37:03.
