Burning River 100 Mile Relay

I am running in an 8 person 100-mile relay on the 29th to the 30th of July. The run starts in Willoughby, Ohio and snakes around and down and through the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and ends in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. I will be running the third leg, Egbert Rd. to Stables, a 15-mile leg of the race. It is mostly Bridle Trail and single track. I will not be running on many roads, which is a big change for me. I started off running mostly cross-country races and trail races, so it will be nice to go back to where I started. It has been a long time!

Part of the reason I am doing the race is to raise money for the Cleveland Metroparks and the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. All the money I raise goes to the parks, not to the race administration or staff. I am asking my readers to help me in my fundraising efforts with a donation and/or reblogging and/or reposting on other social media.

A few fundraising teams are still available.

The Burning River Endurance Run & Relay is an exciting 100 and 50-mile solo run and 100-mile relay held in Northeast Ohio.  The race travels through several of the region’s most scenic areas, including the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, the Cleveland Metroparks and the Summit Metro Parks.

Starting at Squire’s Castle in Willoughby Hills, the 100 mile run and relay follow the scenic Cuyahoga River Valley Corridor through the Cleveland Metroparks, Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and Summit Metroparks before finishing in Downtown Cuyahoga Falls.  The 50-mile distance option also begins and Squire’s Castle and finishes at Boston Mills Ski Resort located in Peninsula, Ohio.

The 2017 Burning River 100 is a Western States qualifier, the 3rd leg of the Midwest Grand Slam of Ultrarunning, and now a UTMB qualifying race!

Looking for lodging? BR will once again partner with the Sheraton in Cuyahoga Falls.  2017 lodging details are now available.
