You Are Running

run

verb \ˈrən\

Simple Definition of run

: to move with your legs at a speed that is faster than walking

: to leave a place quickly by running

: to run as part of a sport, for exercise, or in a race

Here is a word that I wish more people would understand. I have had numerus conversations where the person would start with I went running the other day, then they stop and say well not actually running. I don’t really run like runners run. Here is another case where people need to think positive about what they are doing, and call it what it is. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary if you are moving faster than you would be if you were walking then you are running.

People think that there is a certain minute per mile pace you have to be moving for it to be called running. This is not true, no matter what your pace is, it is running. I do understand that people want to be faster. I always want to be faster. I never met anyone that did not want to be faster and on the same note I have never met anyone that was not slower than someone else. Be proud of your accomplishments and set reachable goals to improve.
